Founding members

Called the first evening together and has kept the club's records ever since. Wrote the original constitution and the rule that every dispute is settled by the written rules.

“We started with one board and an argument about the queen. The rules came out of that argument.”

Brought the club's first board and still plays on Fridays. Has attended every Founders' Day since the club began.

Kept the accounts through the move to the Club House and the expansion into the main hall, and set up the fund that paid for the current set of boards.

“Eight boards in two years. It was worth every late night of paperwork.”

Ran the first club championship in 2024 and has organised the draw for it every year since.

Introduced the beginners' evenings and coached most of the club's current regulars through their first season.

“Teach the cover properly and everything else follows.”

Found and negotiated the room at the Club House, which gave the club a permanent home and boards that could stay set up between sessions.
